Installation & Requirements

This guide outlines system requirements, prerequisite plugins, and initial installation steps for server administrators.

System Requirements

The following environment is required to run the plugin:

  • Java: Java 25 or newer
  • Server Software: Paper or Folia 26.1 or newer
  • NegiLib: A NegiLib plugin providing API compatibility version 1.0
  • Vault & Economy Provider (Optional): Required when economy.enabled is set to true for paid rentals. Install Vault and any compatible Economy Provider (e.g., EssentialsX, CMI).
Architectural role of NegiLib

NegiLib serves as the core rendering library and abstracts Folia regional scheduling differences. It must be placed directly inside the server's plugins directory.

Installation Steps

1. Place Plugin Files

Place the following jar files into your server's plugins directory:

  • NegiLib.jar (Downloaded from Modrinth)
  • MapArtLandRental.jar
  • Vault.jar (if using economy)
  • Your chosen economy provider plugin jar

2. Initial Start and Config Generation

Start the server once. The configuration file plugins/MapArtLandRental/config.yml will be automatically generated.

3. Edit Configuration

Stop the server and open plugins/MapArtLandRental/config.yml to configure options for your environment:

  • Database selection (SQLite or MySQL)
  • Economy settings
  • Rental durations and pricing
  • World settings (surface height, base material, rules)
  • Plot types and layout coordinates

For complete details on all configuration keys, see the Configuration Reference.

4. Restart and Verification

Start the server and confirm that the startup log reports:

[MapArtLandRental] MapArt Land Rental is ready
Vanilla map-grid alignment warnings

If the configured plot origin coordinates do not align with vanilla map boundaries, a warning is logged at startup. Verify that origin-x and origin-z in plot-types align cleanly with vanilla map grid multiples before players begin generating maps.
